Community Navigators

Support for over 65s to find out what is on in your local area and how to access the support that you need, in the way that you want.

It can be hard to know what’s going on in your local area and how you can access the support and services you need. This becomes especially difficult when our lives are changing, for example after a fall that knocks our confidence or after the death of a loved one.

Our Community Navigator projects work in the South West and South East of Edinburgh.

Our staff and team of friendly local volunteers will support you to find out what’s on in your local area and how you can access the support you need, in the way you want.

We publish twice-yearly magazines specific to the South West and South East localities. These will outline how to access support and services and what you can expect when you do.  It will also give you ideas about activities, groups and events available in your area.

We hold informal information stations across South West and South East Edinburgh. Look out for us in your local supermarket, post office, GP surgery or library. If you have ideas of where we should hold an information station, please let us know.  The information stations will not only include a friendly face but also a wealth of knowledge about the services, groups and activities in your area. Get in touch with us to find out where you can meet us in the near future!

We know that it can be hard to approach people about the support you need, so we can also contact you at home.

If you would like to find out more about what we do or the local support and services available, please get in touch.

Community Navigator South West: Graham Smith.  Call: 0131 225 8508.

Community Navigator South East: Jenny Green.  Call: 0131 225 8508.

We gather local community information and publish it in our free magazine Discover, please let us know if you would like to receive a copy. We can also add your name to the subscription list.

There are lots of ways you can get involved with us. As well as volunteering opportunities, we would love to hear your thoughts. Is there a topic you would like to see in the next issue? Or maybe you know of local group that we could help promote. Get in touch!

Would you like to volunteer with us, or do you have an idea for an article for our magazines? If so please get in touch on the number above.
