Work can provide so many positives for our mental wellbeing
- Gives us a purpose, whether that’s through the type of work we do, or enabling us to meet our some or all of our needs outside of work.
- Connects us with other people, whether it’s colleagues or customers, or perhaps other workplaces through networking, we can find connections with people that we share something with.
- Provides structure, as when at work we usually have to be at a set location for a set time to do something specific. This can help us give structure to the days (or nights) when we work.
- Gives us room to grow and learn, whether through formal training or through tasks to focus on.
But work can also impact our mental health negatively. There can be a lot of aspects that we don’t have control over, we can spend a lot of time worrying about work, or we can feel trapped by work as we need it to fulfil basic needs.
We’ve created a free downloadable resource to give you some hints and tips around wellbeing in the workplace.

What’s in this resource?
This 14-page printable resource is a one-stop-shop for helping you develop a more mental-health positive workplace. It includes:
A 6-page guide to workplace wellbeing for all staff
This guide uses the 5 Ways to Wellbeing framework to explore some ways that individual staff can manage stress and improve their workplace wellbeing through small daily changes. Printing this out and sharing it with your colleagues is a great way to promote positive mental health and wellbeing at work.
A poster to put up in your place of work
Sometimes, we all need a reminder to look after ourselves. This poster offers a reminder of the things you can do to look after your mental health at work, as well as a scannable QR to help staff find support and self-help resources.
Guidelines for HR and Management to help build a more mental health ready workplace
We’ve put together a few starting points for building a wellbeing framework for staff, which will not only produce a more positive work environment for everyone, but can help encourage a healthier, more productive, and more present employee base.
The resource provides initial ideas, but, if your organisation partners with Health in Mind, we can work with you to build more tailored support.
A 4-page Wellness Action Plan template
A Wellness Action Plan (WAP) is a great way to work with your staff to build personalised plans to help maintain positive mental health and proactively manage stress and triggers before they arise. This 4-page printable template can be used for any kind of work – in-office, onsite or remote – and provides a structure to have clear, honest conversations around mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.
