Who is the support for?

1-1 support service is for anyone experiencing mild to moderate emotional or mental health difficulties, aged 18 and over and living in the Scottish Borders. The support focuses on coping strategies and self-management tools.

Our support might not be suitable if you are already receiving support from other mental health services for particularly severe difficulties, or if the impact of your symptoms makes daily life extremely challenging.

If you feel that you’re in crisis – you are experiencing more severe mental health concerns and need to speak to someone urgently – listening or crisis services may be able to offer more appropriate support. Please see our ‘Get Help Now’ page for urgent support options.

What are the sessions like?

Through ten weekly sessions, we will consider positive ways of coping with emotional and mental health challenges. The aim is to provide a safe space to explore what wellbeing tools might work best for you to self-manage those challenges, alongside a worker or peer worker.

Sessions are relaxed and person-centred – meaning they are tailored around the areas that you would like to focus on. You can meet with the worker in person, online or over the phone.
