Equally Connected

We have a new Peer Connecting service for people who identify as Black, a Person of Colour or Minority Ethnic in West Lothian that helps to create social networks to reduce loneliness and isolation and offers peer support groups too.

This service seeks to provide self-management support to people from marginalised communities living with mental health challenges. This service is trauma-informed, culturally relevant and led by people with lived experience of mental health and as a member of BPOC and minority ethnic communities. People are supported in culturally competent ways to build confidence, meet new people and connect into local groups and activities.

This can include:

  • increased social inclusion through increased community engagement
  • increased self-confidence and self esteem
  • improved social skills
  • increased ability to self-manage
