As the days get longer and new life starts to come back, Health in Mind are calling on people across Scotland to help nurture hope this spring with a new fundraising appeal.

The charity’s 2025 #NurtureHope appeal will run through March, and includes partnerships with local community radio stations Regal Radio and Black Diamond FM to get the word out. The goal is to share the difference that Health in Mind’s approach can make, and to encourage people to support their local mental health and wellbeing charity, Health in Mind.

Lynne Stanford, Income Generation Manager at Health in Mind, said,

It’s been a hard winter for a lot of us, and spring can be a time when we feel like the darkness is lifting a bit. But many people are still going through tough times. One in four of us suffer from mental health difficulties. It takes strength and resilience just to survive times when things feel hopeless and dark, but having somebody with you to help nourish you and nurture hope can make all the difference.

We’re fundraising this spring because we know that support comes from community and trusted relationships, and that’s how we grow change. In the last year, we’ve directly supported over 4,200 people with their mental health and wellbeing – but we need your help to do it.

There’s no getting away from the fact that things are hard at the moment for a lot of people in Scotland. Mental health is worsening, and accessing support is increasingly challenging as rising costs and funding cuts put even more pressure on services. At Health in Mind, we believe that everyone has the right to effective mental health support where, when, and how they need it.

Your donations and support mean that we can continue to reach thousands of people with local, tailored services to help bring back hope, whether it’s one-on-one peer support, trauma counselling, guided self-help, or any other of our many options.

Your money can do so much for people struggling with their mental health. Even just £15 could help someone build the support that’s right for them in their community, and for £100 we could support a new peer volunteer, enabling them to offer one-on-one personalised support for three whole months. It’s incredible how much of a difference access to personalised support and care can make. Your donations don’t just pay for time and resource – they offer the gift of hope.
