Our Peer Connecting service links you with someone who has shared experiences of of common issues who will support you in a safe and non-judgemental environment.
Your Peer Connecting match can support you to:
- Build your confidence and self-esteem, explore ways of managing your feelings and thoughts better, and feel more empowered and in control
- Reconnect with family and friends, build new relationships, and get more involved in your local community
- Re-discover and reinforce your strengths and talents, find a sense of purpose and meaning in your life, and feel more hopeful for the future
Our peer connecting service, is for anyone aged 16 and over who is feeling isolated and would like to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
The service offers individual support for up to six months (where appropriate this can be extended up to 12 months). People are supported by a trained peer volunteer who offers support to build confidence, meet new people and connect into local groups and activities.
How to access Peer Support
You can self-refer or be referred by someone else. Once we hear from you, we will contact you to let you know more about the service and to make sure it’s the right service for you.
