Our volunteers’ help, time, and dedication mean we can offer many more people the personalised support they need.

We value our volunteers enormously, and couldn’t do what we do without them. It’s incredibly important to us that our volunteers enjoy their roles, and feel satisfied and fulfilled.

In addition to the day-to-day support and ongoing supervision that we provide for volunteers, our annual Volunteer Satisfaction Survey helps us ensure that volunteering with Health in Mind stays the most positive, supportive and rewarding experience it can be.

Our 2023 Volunteer Satisfaction Survey report helps us to understand that better and sets out our plans for continuing to make improvements in the coming year.

In 2023-24, we worked with 145 volunteers around Scotland, who gave the experience 4.57 out of 5 stars, with 100% of volunteers responding to the survey telling us they felt valued.

Our volunteers told us:

“I was supported through Health in Mind, and it was during my support I knew what I wanted to do – use my lived experience to help others.”

“I love that volunteering lets me spend time with other volunteers and members of the community who have diverse perspectives and lives, who are all empathetic and treat each other with kindness and respect.”

“I love every second of my volunteering, and having a variety of roles is really good for me.”

“It has given me hope I can return to work again.”

“I feel like I matter and am cared for.”
