Understanding Me.  Working with male survivors of childhood sexual abuse who self-harm and consider suicide

This booklet aims to give you the confidence to recognise and respond to men of all ages who have been sexually abused, who may be at risk of suicide or self-harm and to work positively with them.  This booklet will provide information about CSA based on both research and practice and its links with suicide and self-harming behaviours. It will illustrate and explain some of the feelings that CSA survivors have when they self-harm or attempt suicide.

Adult Male Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse. Needs Assessment: Lothian

In September 2003, NHS Lothian commissioned health in mind to undertake a needs assessment. The overall aim was: “To undertake a quantitative and qualitative appraisal of the needs and resources for adult male survivors of sexual abuse across Lothian, to identify gaps in service provision: and to make recommendations.” This report presents the findings of this study.
